Kids swimming lessons at Texarkana College
Going to the beach this summer? Does your child need to learn to swim for water safety? Let us help! Our summer swim program is designed to promote water safety, knowledge, aquatic adjustment, and increased swimming readiness and skills. Class size is limited to facilitate learning outcomes for your child so sign up soon! The skill levels available are baby, primary (4-5 year olds), basic, intermediate, and advanced. Texarkana Kids' College - June 17th - 27th
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Kids College and we would love for you to participate. We still have spots left in many of our fun classes such as Beads and Bling, Cake Decorating, Call of the Wild, Cheerleading, Sign Language, Lego-Robotics, and Twirling. This is just to name a few. Have you ever wondered how to make all of those fabulous breads that you love to eat? We have just the class for you! Impress your family and yourself by learning to make a handful of Artisan breads. We’ll cover focaccia, ciabatta, sourdough and more. This class will be a one day class held Monday, May 20th from 5-7pm. The cost is $45 and is taught by Brandon Thrash. Electronics Recycling Day - April 27th
The City, UNICOR and Waste Management will host our next Electronics Recycling Day in conjunction with the Parks & Recreation Department Spring Garage Sale on Saturday, April 27th, 2013.
Computers, TVs, Stereos, and other small appliances will be accepted from 10am-4pm in the parking lot across from the old swimming pool at Spring Lake Park.
Members of the Texarkana College Earth Club will be on hand to assist residents with unloading their recyclable electronics.

6th Annual Reader’s Theater, Voices of Freedom: Overcoming Barriers - May 2nd and 4th
Inspired by a traveling exhibit by The Smithsonian Institute called Freedom's Sisters, the presentation is a celebration of African Americans overcoming barriers to achieve economic, social and legislative freedoms. Designed to give citizens additional opportunities to gain information about African American lives and their contributions to the world.

A local, original music mini-fest will be taking the big stage at Spring Lake Park on Saturday, April 20th, from 1-5pm. The Willers and other bands will bring some home-grown music to the local music fans.
